Classic Cocktail Meet Up & Pub Crawl

Preservation is the word and if you haven’t heard by now, there’s a ton of stuff going on next weekend as part of NPF’s Vintage Vegas Home & History weekend. One of the highlights is our Classic Cocktail Meet Up & Pub Crawl, happening Saturday, May 7th, at 6:00pm!

We’ll be kicking off our pub crawl at the not-yet-open-to-the-public ReBar, a new wine bar/pub/antique store located in the heart of Antique Alley and slated for opening in early June. Starting at 6pm, we will join ReBar owner Derek Stonebarger and his architect Rob Gurdison for a complimentary round of drinks and a Q&A regarding the rehab process of turning this 1950s commercial strip mall property into a fully functioning bar and retail store.

What does this have to do with preservation, you might ask? Well, adaptive reuse of old buildings is one of the largest factors behind preservation successes. As you read frequently in our Preservation Mondays blog, adaptive reuse of old buildings creates positive economic numbers, builds community, and ensures a diverse and healthy mix of downtown businesses. What better way to learn about some of the behind the scenes factors of rehabbing an old building than with drinks, friends, and the experts who are finishing such a project right now?

It’s no coincidence that Derek and his wife Dorian Stonebarger are behind this new business. The couple is one of NPF’s bronze level founding donors and have been advocates of preservation for quite some time. As a matter of fact, Derek plans to donate a portion of his proceeds to a handful of Vegas’ nonprofits and charities, and Nevada Preservation Foundation is one of them. Every time you buy a “Preservation Press” drink (which is really a Vodka Press), a percentage of the sale will be donated directly to NPF! How cool is that?!

So join Derek, Rob, and NPF next Saturday evening, May 7th, at 6:00pm for complimentary beer and wine, and a small sampling of our new “Preservation Press” cocktail, coming soon at ReBar!

Afterwards, we’ll crawl over to the Velveteen Rabbit and enjoy 15% off drinks to end the evening. And if you’re looking to pre-party, stop by Downtown Crown for 15% off food and drinks as well.

Further details of the event and how to receive the discounts will be emailed in the coming week. You do need to be a Home Tour ticket holder in order to participate in the Classic Cocktail Meet Up and to receive the Antique Alley discounts. Find more details on other Saturday events that don’t require a Home Tour ticket here.
